Checklist for recruiting CCG lay members

Lay Members R checklistWe have published a checklist to support CCGs with recruiting lay members. Aimed at CCG chairs, members of the CCG governing body and lay members, the checklist provides a series of questions that can be asked to start conversations about both recruitment and succession planning.

The checklist looks at:

  • succession planning – when should you recruit and what skills do you need?
  • defining the lay member’s role description
  • the recruitment process
  • the interview process.

A list of helpful resources that CCGs can use when looking to recruit their lay members are also included on the checklist.

This is the first in a planned series, looking at different aspects of the lay member role, with checklists on induction and training and development for lay members set to follow later this year.

You can download the checklist below and read our news story.
