We are pleased to announce that through the Mental Health Commissioners Network we have signed up to the Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health from Public Health England.
We are proud that our Mental Health Commissioners Network, chaired by Dr Phil Moore, was one of the founding signatories and part of the group that co-produced the Prevention Concordat pledges, alongside organisations such as the Mental Health Foundation, Faculty of Public Health, Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition and Local Government Association. We have been working hard to support clinical commissioners through a number of practical publications:
One in six adults experiences at least one diagnosable mental health problem in their lifetime. This is influenced by the environment in which we are born, grow, live and work, meaning many of these problems can be prevented – and we can all play a role in this.
This can only be achieved through everyone working together across sectors and we encourage other organisations to join us in recognising that mental health is just as important as physical health.
