Setting up limited liability companies in general practice – what commissioners need to know

Event Details

  • Venue : Webinar
  • Date : 22 January 2020
  • Event Time : 12:30-1:30pm

We know a number of GPs are looking at limited liability companies in general practice, but what are the implications and what do commissioners need to be aware of?  NHS Clinical Commissioners (NHSCC) is facilitating a webinar for members so that NHS England and NHS Improvement can update you on the work that has been happening to support those areas of the country where there is a desire to create limited liability companies to act as delivery vehicles for general practice, and potentially primary care networks. We will draw learning from early experiences, and describe the role commissioners can play to assure these models will deliver improved quality and sustainability.

Specifically, it will:

  • outline the draft toolkit being developed to support commissioners with the application and approvals process including decision making, and to seek your input into the next iteration
  • explore the opportunities and risks of limited liability delivery models for primary care and consider further implementation barriers and challenges

It will be an interactive session with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and you will get to hear from NHSEI national colleagues as well as gain a local perspective from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG who have been closely involved in this work. We have also invited Helen Goodey, Director of Locality Development and Primary Care, NHS Gloucestershire CCG, who is part of our primary care reference group to offer some reflections.

Please log in to the members’ area to book your place on the webinar.

If you would like any questions to be picked up as part of the webinar please feel free to submit them in advance at for the team to consider.
