The aim of the event is to provide an introduction to the national policy context with the publication of the Long Term Plan and the move towards more integrated care, the lay member role in delivery these and the expectations of NHS England. The day will also cover the support that is available both locally and nationally and offer an opportunity to forge relationships with trust non-executive directors as the event will be co-located with the NHS Providers’ induction event.
We have developed an agenda that has been refined by the lay member steering group and feedback from the wider membership. We begin with an introduction to the NHS in a joint session with non-executive director colleagues, with updates from NHS England, examples from lay member colleagues of the role in action and presentations from the King’s Fund on the importance of patient and public participation.
This is a paid event (£100.00) to cover the cost of the venue. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. Spaces are limited to 30 so please register to attend as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
