Update (16 March): The current national focus is on delaying the peak of the spread of Coronavirus to the summer and our top priority is to help local NHS services ensure that they can provide patients with the care they need. We have cancelled this event to ensure CCGs can focus their current time on the local planning and responses with partners.

To ensure the material of this event reaches members we are converting this event into a series of webinars for April and May 2020 – please watch out for further details.

The rapidly changing NHS landscape, the need to improve population health and to drive efficiencies has led to an unprecedented number of CCG mergers due to take place in April 2020, and many more CCGs are considering a merger in April 2021. A key lesson from previous mergers has been that building a strong case for change during the application phase with member practices, local partners, and the public is critical when forming a new CCG.

This national learning event hosted by NHS Clinical Commissioners (NHSCC) in partnership with Browne Jacobson LLP and NHS England and Improvement (NHSEI) is for CCGs considering a merger in April 2021. It is designed to give attendees:

  • An opportunity to learn from other CCGs about their experiences of merging, the risks and the benefits.
  • Knowledge on how to build a compelling case for change and how best to engage stakeholders and get them on board.
  • An understanding of the merger process, with top tips on how to get ahead in the application phase, and information about the support and advice on offer.

The event is designed to be practical and interactive, and there will be a mix of speakers from CCGs, NHSCC, NHSEI and Browne Jacobson LLP.

Please log in to the members’ area to access the booking link. This event is free for all CCGs considering merging together in April 2021. We have three places reserved for each group of CCGs.
